Food for children
I don’t have a powerful story to tell. I’m not better than anyone. If anything, the only difference is that I’ve been given more help than others.
And when I’m given more, the least I can do is try to give some of it back.
Whether we think we deserve what we have or not, these children still deserve to eat.
When a child goes to school excited to learn and see their friends, they shouldn’t have to remember that they can’t afford lunch, shrug it off, and tell them self that it’s okay because it’s just the way their life is.
I’m not asking you to donate lots of money. Something as little as £10 will go towards feeding a child several meals.
Maybe you give 30% because it makes you feel good
Maybe 40% because you want to do good deeds
Maybe 20% because you feel some responsibility
But one thing is certain, it is 100% the right thing to do.
So help me with this. Not because it’s a good thing, but because it’s the right thing.
“And they give food, despite their love for it, to the poor, the orphan, and the captive.” – Qur’an 76:8
I ask Allah to allow me to make the most of the blessings he has given me; to meet and help more people who have been through true hardship, and to accept whatever small good we are able to do.
