Faisal's School Offered Him a Lifeline
There are more than 3.5 million children in Afghanistan who need nutritional treatment – here’s just one...
Meet Faisal, a 10-year-old boy from Kabul.
Like many in Afghanistan, Faisal’s father struggles to find employment, working as a porter whenever he can. But with so little money available, the family make do with meagre meals and can’t even afford treatment for Faisal’s sick mother.
Food is his answer.
Regular and balanced school meals allow Faisal to grow up healthily and access education. But more than that, it also alleviates the financial burden on the family, allowing his siblings to eat more and his mother to afford medicine.
