Sadaqa Jariyah

This is a Sadaqa Jariyah for my late father Mohammed Riaz.

! 

I can still hear it.. as I walked up the stairs I would hear my father reading Quran in his room as the rest of us watched TV. The more I heard his recitation, the longer I stay sat outside his room listening – his love for the Quran was infectious.

All the way until he passed, my father would carry an electronic Quran with him, playing it constantly – it seemed like everywhere he walked around the house, he would have the Quran playing. My father loved the Quran. He loved listening to the Quran being recited; something me and my siblings have thankfully picked up from my blessed father.

My father also loved charity. To such an extent that he would encourage me to volunteer wherever I could and was never more proud when I had just come home from volunteering in Ramadan. He would give as much as he possibly could – every month he would have £2, £3, £5 as a standing order to multiple charities, Alhumdulilah.

Now, in this beautiful month, I would like to continue something he would have loved to do himself – give for the sake of Allah towards Hifz Students.

This will be, INSHA’ALLAH, a Sadaqa Jariyah for my father. 🤲
