It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Trustee and Treasurer, Azhar Khan. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (to God we belong, to Him we shall return).

Azhar was a pillar of strength for Charity Right, dedicating decades of financial expertise and unwavering commitment to ensuring the financial health of our organisation. His kindness, humility, and deep sense of purpose inspired us all and played a pivotal role in our shared mission of ending child hunger.

Azhar was one of our most dedicated and longstanding trustees, serving with unwavering commitment and profound impact throughout his tenure. Beyond his leadership role, he remained deeply involved in our work on a personal level. Even in his role as a trustee, Azhar attended numerous charity dinners, where he donated generously in a manner that was deeply private, reflecting his humility and his sincere desire to make a difference without seeking recognition.

Many of us will fondly remember Azhar’s presence at staff gatherings, where his thoughtful advice, calm demeanour, and brilliant insights left an indelible mark. Whether it was during heartfelt conversations or captivating talks about his career, Azhar had an extraordinary way of making everyone feel valued, motivating us to approach our work with renewed purpose and dedication.

Beyond his role as a Trustee, Azhar was a mentor to many. He guided with generosity, kindness, and clarity, offering advice that reflected a lifetime of wisdom. His ability to inspire and lead with compassion left a legacy that continues to resonate.

In honour of Azhar’s memory and his legacy of generosity, a waqf has been established in his name—a lasting sadaqah jariyah (ongoing charity) that will provide benefit to those in need for generations to come.
