Turkey has the most refugees in the world, but thousands of Uyghur children are still overlooked...
Food is their answer.

50,000 Uyghurs fled cultural genocide to seek safety in Turkey. Among them were hundreds of children whose parents remained in re-education camps. Scared and alone, these children lack food, healthcare and education. They may be free, but they're far from safe.

But food is their answer.

With regular school meals, these children can receive the nutrition they need to grow up healthy and happy.

Zulhaya's School Offered Her a Lifeline

Out of 3.5 million refugees in Turkey, 70,000 are Uyghurs.

Meet Zulhaya.

After working hard to rebuild their lives in Malaysia, 13-year-old Zulhaya's family was turned upside down. Her parents were deported while she fled for safety in Turkey, joining thousands of Uyghurs already struggling with poor living conditions, financial insecurity and an ever-worsening lack of food.

Food is her answer.

School meals have completely turned Zulhaya's life around. With English and Uyghur language skills under her belt, Zulhaya can begin to dream of a brighter future.
